Abstract

Automating the process of postmortem (PM) identification of individuals using dental records is receiving increased attention. In developing a research prototype of an Automated Dental Identification System (ADIS), research teams from multiple institutions collaborated with forensic experts from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) division to identify the functional requirements of ADIS. A multitude of digital image processing and pattern recognition techniques were developed to meet the requirements of the constituent components of ADIS. ADIS as a research project on its completion needs to undergo heavy testing. In this demo, we present a web-based environment for testing ADIS. In testing mode, we upload batches of reference records, and test the performance, accuracy and efficiency of ADIS different configuration.
