Distributed Hash Tables (DHT) was not designed to be secure against malicious users. But some secure systems like trust and reputation management algorithms trustDHTwith their data. Several propositions have been made to make DHTs appear secure but they fail in practice. We review some of those propositions and explain why they do not work. Our main conclusion is that DHT should not be used to create secure systems.
