Mobile TV is widely considered as major future growth driver of mobile multimedia. Although certain benefits such as location-independence are evident, the potential of this medium reaches beyond plain "TV on the mobile'. In this paper, we propose the integration of service enablers for peer-to-peer interactivity into Mobile TV. Using our definition of Mobile Social TV we discuss opportunities of integrating content and peer-to-peer interaction in DVB-H services. Furthermore, we illustrate the concept by presenting our ongoing mobile TV research, technology and infrastructure aspects as well as future research directions.
