The inexorable growth of LSI electronics necessarily brings non-uniforn progress in hardware, favoring particularly the advancement of memories, "electronic disks," microprocessors, and intelligent display terminals. They are expected to play a fundamental role in the future database systems oriented to accommodate the untrained users at low cost. Only in this way can the Second Industrial Revolution be won.
