Abstract

This paper presents the results of a survey that examines the attitudes and perceptions that students with non-computing majors hold regarding computing majors and professionals. This survey attempts to determine how non-major students feel about computing majors, job prospects for computing majors, and whether or not they believe they understand the differences between IT, CS, and IS. Understanding how others perceive the computing profession may provide information which can help attract students to computing majors.
