Abstract

Ambient Networks (AN) is a European project focusing on interworking between heterogeneous networks under different administrative domains. In this project a device can be a network belonging to a administrative domain. These networks can work together by using composition which is the term used in AN as the method for interworking and integration of networks. Composition can be in the form of interworking, absorption or different levels of combination of the two. This makes the task of mobility between the composed ANs ever complex. During composition several steps needs to be performed. In this paper these steps are identified and related security and mobility aspects are given. The paper also proposes solutions for mobility of a node between sub-ANs of a composed network based on localized mobility management (LMM) and global mobility management (GMM).
