Abstract

Transmit precoding employing channel state information (CSI) at transmitter side can further improve capacity in multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) fading channel, but performance improvement largely depends on degree of channel knowledge. This paper considers imperfect CSI which results from channel estimation error at receiver side, CSI quantization noise and feedback delay. Theory of matrix perturbation is utilized to analyze array gain loss both at transmitter and receiver side, inter-subchannel interference and signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) under condition of imperfect CSI. Theoretical analysis shows that performances are affected by singular value distribution of MIMO channel matrix besides CSI error. Numerical results validate the theoretical investigation.
