Abstract

A performance analysis tool which has been built into the CAEDE environment for design of Ada software is described. In the 'software CAD' philosophy of CAEDE this could be one of several analysis tools to be used on design, before generating application code. The analyzer has a practical interface for software designers and computes system throughputs for various design options and processor speeds and allocations, as well as finding bottlenecks and task utilizations, etc. Both an early version of these calculations, which is performed in the distribution version CAEDE1.5, and a more advanced research version are described.
