Abstract

Emerging mobile applications will need location information for delivering right services to right persons at right places and time. In this paper, we propose a new approach for implementing presence services combined with constant location changes. However, constant changes may seriously impact the quality of service of the running presence server. Without asking users for involving the tedious presence update process, we demonstrate an approach that can keep the presence information up-to-date with the constant location changes automatically, and share the work load to sustain the quality of service of the presence server. Meanwhile, it also assures that users can fully maintain their own privacy.
