An application of the level set method along with a continuous reinitialization function for computing solutions to a simplified model of the cavity filling in injection molding of thermoplastics is presented. The process is assumed to be two-phase flow in two dimensions and isothermal. The Navier-Stokes and level set equations are solved using a linear viscosity model in terms of shear rate. The results indicate that the proposed methodology can improved and extend to three dimension non-isothermal cavities.
