Abstract

This paper proposes a method of expressing facial aging based on visual expression techniques cultivated by artists from days of old. A large number of previous researches have been undertaken pertaining to aging, based on simulation and automation model[1,2,3,8]. In this research, we present a novel approach that is based on expression techniques by artists and propose an artistically-based techniques for visual simulation of facial aging. The technique is applied to the self-portrait painted by the 17th century Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn to compare the proposed technique with the painting.
