Software quality requirements is an important but somewhat neglected topic in software and systems engineering. Problems with requirements are one of most important causes of project failures. The ISO has recently published a new standard, ISO/IEC 25030, on software quality requirements. This paper introduces the new standard and discusses some of the thoughts behind the standard. Users of the standard are encouraged to provide feedback to the standards committee. This article is part of a special issue on quality requirements.
