Abstract

Textures evolving over time are called temporal textures which are very popular in videos of everyday life. The smoke flowing and the water waving are good examples for temporal textures. Over the last few decades, hundreds of papers have been published on the analysis of static textures, but only few of them have studied the temporal nature of textures. In this paper, we present an efficient texture descriptor based on spatial and temporal prediction residual of mean filtering; in addition, the overall evaluation for the performance of video retrieval using temporal texture features will be studied.
