Abstract

In this paper we discuss the problem of differentiation of the multi-dimensional discrete signals. The methodology of finding their derivatives consists in their local approximation with some smooth function from which derivatives of different order can be computed analytically. Most often than not for this purpose the polynomials of different order are used. This approach exhibits an additional advantage of requiring only linear methods for computation. We present a pipelined parallel implementation of the differentiation system on reconfigurable hardware board which is aimed at real-time processing of discrete-time data, such as digital audio and video.
