For my dissertation I have constructed a computer tool called LEGALESE that assists lawyers in the construction of legal arguments. The specific type of legal argument involved is the kind presented in legal briefs, where a lawyer presents an argument on behalf of a client. LEGALESE is a graphical, hypertext based tool that has been constructed on a Macintosh computer using HyperCard.
