Information technology is the key factor of development and implementation of business (process) change, which also in turn influences the improvement of the company's information system that should provide data needed in business (processes). Companies seek means for efficient analysis of vast amount of gathered data from their IT systems to improve business operations and achieve a competitive advantage. They are using Business Intelligence (BI) technology to analyze every aspect of their data to understand business operation and recognize, monitor, analyze and improve business processes, and finally gain a competitive advantage in the market. The paper points out the significance of Business Intelligence for certain activities of business engineering such as: define business strategy, business process redesign, business process management, decision making (process) redesign and change of the business information system.
