This Applications department looks into an emerging class of user interfaces. We'll examine efforts to harness biosignals to enable enhanced computer interfaces. Though still early in the cycle, theirgreat potential for enhanced assistive technologies suggests they will become important, as moretechnical issues resolve themselves. In particular, biosignals can serve for passive health monitoring for the elderly who want to remain at home but need some level of support as they age.
