Abstract

The broad objective of the project of which the work reported below is a part is to explore and develop techniques in man-machine interaction. The situation involving a person interacting with a machine in the performance of a task generally requires that the person be on-line with the machine. The amount of machine time wasted while the person is carrying out his part of a task may require, even in an experimental situation, a timesharing system.
