Abstract

The paper presents the implementation of a 3D acquisition system intended to be used as a tool in the conservation of folk heritage objects. We developed a computational efficient and cost effective 3D reconstruction system used for acquiring, reconstructing and presenting the 3D shape of heritage objects. The proposed solution for 3D reconstruction is based on a phase shifting fringe projection algorithm. This paper presents a simple analysis of fringe pattern reconstruction models as well as the details of our solution. The result proves that the proposed method is suited for such applications and is more widely applicable.
