Travel is one of important domain referring to many factors, and has plenty of domain knowledge, which is the essential base of travel information systems. This paper discussed the building and reasoning of travel ontology based on the methods of Ontology. First it introduced the process of the building of travel ontology in detail, which includes defining its structure of categories, attributes, relationships, axioms and filling instances. Then it used the OWL reasoning mechanism to test its consistence and find implication knowledge.
