Abstract

The main topic of this contribution is the description of one particular stage in the process of online dictionary development: the design of a reliable, customized parsing tool used in the selection of the relevant lexicographic input to be included in an online bilingual dictionary of terminology associated with European Community legal texts. Starting with a succinct reference to a number of problems found in the macrostructure and interstructure of bilingual/multilingual online dictionaries involving the English and Romanian domains, we go on to discuss the criteria, principles, approach and steps that the design of this particular component of our software support system is based on.
