Bandwidth reservation is an alternative approach to provide QoS in mobile ad-hoc networks. However, unlike in cellular networks where resources are controlled by a centralized entity, bandwidth reservation in ad-hoc networks is a more challenging task because of instability of radio channels, nodes mobility and lack of coordination between mobile nodes. Reservations established by a node should be reported to all its neighbors and any missed or unrecorded reservation can have drastic impacts on the consistency of established reservations. In this paper we propose a robust reservation protocol. The basic idea of our scheme is to ensure that each reservation packet transmitted by a node to establish reservation is successfully received by all its neighbors. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of our protocol.
