Abstract

Gaussian Projection is an algorithm based on the Gaussian Pyramid, that can render point-sampled-geometry - obtained from stereo data in the form of range images - without polygonization, and at full native resolution. Gaussian Projection makes use of the GPU to perform efficient and fast multi-resolution rendering of point-based data, with automatic hole-filling (scattered point interpolation), and without any preprocessing other than Image Pyramid generation.
