Graphics recognition aims to recover the geometric information and semantic information in documents. The recognized primitives, which are grouped to stand for particular meanings, could be called symbols. Research in symbol description plays an important role in graphics recognition. In this paper, we proposed a complete descriptor for geometric relationships of line-segment-pair, which is a key part of specifying symbols' geometric features. An algorithm is presented for recognizing all the same symbols in vectorial drawings. Experimental results show that our descriptor is more complete than existing ones. As a result, our method of symbol recognition takes higher accuracy.
