In this study, we propose a teaching and research initiative, named SAMAL (Smart AMbience for Affective Learning) that will provide a unique environment for integrating cognitive and affective approaches to enhance learning. Also, we illustrate our design of affect-evocating scenarios for facilitating de Bono's six-hat thinking in classroom. In addition, we present a research model explaining the enabling effects of SAMAL sensation on students' affective experience and learning effectiveness. Our initial findings indicated that SAMAL sensation could positively influence affective experience perceived by learners, and learning effectiveness of learners. In addition, we found that the effect of SAMAL sensation on learners' learning effectiveness was partially mediated by the affective experience perceived by learners.
