Abstract

Recently, symbol-based beamforming/combining has been introduced for OFDM systems with multiple transmit and receive antennas [1]. Despite the complexity reduction, the resultant SNR values of different subcarriers are often not balanced, and it limits the system performance. In this letter, we propose to use the max-min criterion to overcome the problem. Simulation results show that the error-rate performance of the proposed symbol-based processing scheme can be improved as compared with that of the conventional one.
