Abstract

New wireless technology for ubiquitous healthcare gives new possibilities for monitoring of vital signals with biomedical sensor node and thereby gives better quality of patient care. This paper focuses on development of new concept for ubiquitous BCG (ballistocardiogram) monitoring system using wireless sensor node transmitting signals to a diagnostic station at hospital. Thereafter analysis the performance of long term BCG signals which can be used as an advanced diagnosis for health monitoring index. This research takes place either at home or office during daily life which can perform effectively in signal measurement by implementation of a new chair type BCG unconstrained measurement system. The main advantage is BCG measurement system does not required sensor node to be attached to patients' body during recording which is different from measurement of ECG (electrocardiogram). Signal processing algorithm including wavelet transforms for noise cancellation, template matching for normalization and peak detection in BCG is developed.
