Abstract

Video teleconference technology has been around for some time. However, recent developments in network and computing technology made it possible to handle very high quality image, expanding the usage of the remote video from mere personal presence to sophisticated remote collaboration. MedieaI application such as remote live surgery is a good example. In this paper, we discuss two technical issues for high bandwidth video teleconferencing. We discuss software architecture for high volume video teleconferencing server, and the method for the bandwidth feasibility test for a video teleconference network.
