How would it be if I used another resource? Would I then meet my deadlines? Would it be more efficient? Those and similar thoughts cross the minds of -- chip design process -- managers. The semiconductor design industry suffers from yearly losses up to $4 billion because of lacking possibilities to predict courses and outcomes of design processes. In addition, tracing several alternatives to check the best one is very costly, time-consuming and thus unjustifiable. Therefore, simulative approaches should be considered. Adapted to the realities in the semiconductor design industry and vested with the necessary formalism, simplicity and expressiveness, we propose a novel approach to model real processes towards a computer aided simulation.
