Rapid penetration of internet-enabled mobile handsets is being witnessed in worldwide. It also creates some new social frictions like SPAM mail to mobile handsets. The emergence of mobile Internet services in Japan soon triggered wide spread mobile SPAM mail. It reached a certain point to attract significant social attention in April 2001. The SPAM mail impact is analyzed from the long-term transition of user mail address pattern changes. This study examines the SPAM mail impact from the viewpoint of charged mobile Internet services.
