We show in this paper the correlation between the packet losses and some aspects of the behavior of ADSL users, more precisely some traffic characteristics of their TCP connections: duration, size and inter-arrival. We observe that when the loss rate increases, connections are shorter and their inter-arrival times increase. These shorter sizes are not only due to the interruption of connections but also to a certain form of self-censorship. We define different thresholds and a notion of sensitiveness, to describe the impact of the loss rates on these traffic characteristics.
