Abstract

Complex computational systemsmay integrate heterogeneous components that may be defined in different ways. In order to test the conformance of an implementation we can use a different testing methodology for each of the (different groups of) components. Still, this approach might overlook details regarding the relation among the parts of the system under test. We present an integrated testing methodology that takes into account the hierarchical dependence of all the parts of a system. Its main peculiarity is that parts of the implementation under test (IUT) that have already been tested may partially define the behavior of the tests used to check the correctness of other IUT parts.
