This paper presents an overview of a system for recovering 3D models corresponding to scenes for which only a single perspective image is available. The system encompasses a versatile set of semi-automatic single view reconstruction techniques and couples them with limited interactive user input in order to reconstruct textured 3D graphical models corresponding to the imaged input scenes. Such 3D models can serve as the digital content for supporting interactive multimedia and virtual reality applications. Furthermore, they can support novel applications in areas such as video games, 3D photography, visualmetrology, computer-assisted study of art and crime scene reconstruction, etc.
