Digital ink is a technology created to improve the interaction interface of computing devices. This paper presents an evaluation of the use of digital ink in mobile computing environments. Experiments with the communication of digital ink are shown, leading to its characterization as a new media type and, consequently, to the need for appropriate treatment for quality of service in real-time applications based on that technology.
