Abstract

This paper provides an agent based on an otology that helps instructors to guide the process of selecting teaching and learning strategies. We present an approach of ontology representation based on a novel architecture of agent-based simulation of teaching and learning process. We propose a conceptual architecture of such system. There are presented several aspects, how the usage of ontologies for selecting and utilization of instructional strategies to enhance power of thinking and problem solving, which can improve the efficiency of intelligent tutoring systems. Main attention is paid to the usage of ontologies for agent communication and formal description of learning components and processing strategies.
