The proposed method of adaptive thresholding uses probability distribution of additive noise signal, by which the input signal is corrupted. The additive noise with non-uniformly distributed power spectral density can be reduced via normalization process. The method is focused on musical signal corrupted by the noise with relative high input signal-to-noise ratio ranging between 20 and 30 dB. The method uses the thresholding of coefficients of Discrete Fourier transform (DFT). Minimal signal distortion should be introduced by this method. In conclusion the method is tested for noise reduction efficiency and size of degradation of processed signal.
