This paper analyzes the power consumption patterns and the energy efficiency of flash-based SSDs using microbenchmarks for raw I/Os as well asmacrobenchmarks with two different filesystems for real-world workloads. We believe that this research will help discover more energy-efficient ways of using flash-based SSDs.
