Abstract

In the process automation lab of the Óbuda University Kandó Kalman Faculty of Electrical Engineering we have been developing mobile robots for years. So far the results of the developments were always prototype for research, laboratory or teaching purposes. The robot which is going to be presented now is however a real application in which the reliability, the easy handling, repairing and commissioning and last but non least the good appearance is really important. The mobile robot was completed in 2009 and was successfully used in the Regula Hungary 2009 which is the biggest automation fair in Hungary. In this article the planning, the development and the testing of the system is going to be presented. It will be shown that there is considerable difference between the theory and what really works in practice. In a fair or an exhibition our robot has to move in dynamic environment among people so it is really difficult to find a method for navigation. In this article different working and not working navigation methods are going to be shown as well.
