The K-Thot virtual keyboard system presented in this paper aims to decrease the effort (especially movements) needed to make a text input and is intended for users who have difficulty entering data on a physical keyboard. As part of this article, we present a virtual keyboard typing to replace a physical keyboard. K-Thot is composed with ten keys, each containing four characters, one by cardinal point. Entering a character is done by selecting the key containing it and making a cursor leave on the side where the target character is. Four devices will be proposed, The first one will use the classical azerty layout, the second one will use an alphabetical order, the third one will be organized (provision created by an algorithm) and the last one will be a dynamic layout (once a letter has been validated, the keyboard rearranges the letters on the keys to present first those with the highest chance of being captured later, thanks to statistics provided by the N-grams). After an analysis of similar systems, K-Thot is explained in detail. Early results from preliminary experiments are provided and discussed.
