In this paper, we mainly propose a business model under the modeling framework for service ecosystems. We analyze the progress in modeling business ecosystems, digital ecosystems and service ecosystems. We point out the research gaps in modeling service ecosystems, especially those resulted from overlooking the essence of service. To address those gaps, we present an architecture of modeling framework for service ecosystems which consists of three layers, namely business layer, agent society layer and physical network layer. We concentrate on the business layer and propose a business model for service ecosystems. We elaborate the business model level by level, from service world to service ecosystem and finally to service individual. We also discuss the service management and value propagation mechanism at ecosystem level, as well as the reaction strategy at individual level. The business model can be mapped to agent society to establish an execution platform for service ecosystems.
