In this paper, applications of signal processing techniques in facilitating shape modeling in industrial design will be explored. The theoretical principles will be simply revisited, and our focused attention will be given to the application examples of using the proposed techniques to promote the efficiency of industrial design. These examples will demonstrate that, by enabling the abstract and reusing of the regional shape information, the proposed techniques are effective to support rapid shape conceptualization, creation, and manipulation.
