This paper analyses the performance of a proposed mouth shape's extraction algorithm based on LevelSet while comparing it with an existing alternative: the MultiObjective Genetic Snakes. This new algorithm offers an arbitrary initialisation and is 150 times faster than the previous one. Its implementation and theoretical bases are described.
