We present an executable and changeable reference model for Health Insurance Applications. The model is based on the published descriptions of Health Insurance Products and exploits properties of the compositional Protocol Modelling technique. We analyze the changes of Health Insurance Products made in the last six years. All changes found in official sources are classified on the basis of their impact on model modification. The results of analysis show that each class of changes can be presented locally as an event or an attribute of an existing Protocol Machine or as a new Protocol Machine. New Protocol Machines are added to the model and composed with it so that the order of events in behaviour sequences defined by the old protocol machines is not changed.
