In this paper we present a mathematical model to optimize the average download time in a Peer-to-peer Video on Demand system, where a set of resources are available in the cloud to assist the service. First, we propose a simple optimization model based on a Markov chain. Then, we provide some numerical results based on simulations and optimizations using a GRASP method on a real scenario.
