This study describes the building of ontologies to enhance current digital museum archives. Ontologies are employed to move the service level from information to knowledge retrieval. This study concentrates on a design procedure that exploits Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) to obtain conceptual structures, and Description Logic (DL) to denote concept relations in logic expressions. The empirical findings reveal that development procedures help guide ontology builders to build ontological knowledge bases step by step. Furthermore, the knowledge extraction is helpful and connectable for builders and other tools.
