Abstract

Based on a second order nonlinear model of microbial growth, two distinct problems-state estimation and parameter estimation-are considered. The first case assumes only one state is available from measurement and an asymptotic estimate of the other state is required. The second problem assumes both states are available, and considers the design of an estimator to provide asymptotic estimates of the growth system parameters.
