This paper considers the so-called model-based approach to anti-windup compensation and analyses the stability of the closed-loop system for a class of input nonlinearities. The degrees of freedom in the anti-windup scheme are used to minimise the H"~ norm of the transfer function around the nonlinearity and the Small Gain Theorem is used to prove stability.
