A dynamic price adaptation scheme for queue control is proposed wherein the objective is to modulate the price so as to keep the load in a queue close to a prescribed `ideal' profile, given that the users behave in an individually optimal manner w.r.t. their respective utility functions. The scheme can be analyzed using the `o.d.e.' approach to stochastic approximation algorithms. Simulations confirm the analytic predictions.
