Abstract

To ensure the correctness of any algorithm or procedure which generates a protocol converter, one may follow different approaches of protocol validation. This paper describes the protocol validation through deductive inference which is based on a list of statements of properties, axioms and rules for inferring the statements from the axioms. As an example, we have chosen the protocol converter generated by the protocol complementation approach (Das, S. PhD thesis, Indian Institute of Technology, 1996; Das and Dhar, Computer Communication, 1997).
