Abstract

Because of the limitations that are imposed on the length of the waiting space in most service facilities, the interesting phenomenon of blocking is encountered. We develop a ''queuing network model'' to study blocking for the ''Burger King'' drive-thru fast-food restaurant, in our attempt to improve operations, planning and performance of this type of service. Assuming Poisson arrivals and exponential service times, we analyze this model under normal and saturation conditions
